About The Society

The Robert Burns Society of Charleston, LLC was formed and organized under the Secretary of State of South Carolina as The Robert Burns Society of Charleston, LLC, April 21, 2020.

The Society re-incorporated from LLC, under auspices from the South Carolina Secretary of State, effective June 2, 2022.

The society is organized (exclusively) for charitable and educational purposes described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

Mission Statement

The Robert Burns Society of Charleston Inc., a non-profit organization, supports and promotes Scottish-American history, Scottish heritage, culture and military tradition in the South Carolina Lowcountry through events and the development of excellence in Highland Bagpiping, Highland Dance, Scottish Fiddle, Scottish Harp (Clàrsach), the Scots Gaelic language, to include, support of academic achievement of the Scottish-American diaspora through Grants/Scholarships.
